The appraisal drilling process marks the boundary of a geothermal resource area, which has been confirmed during exploration drilling before the development of production wells can begin.

The principal officer, Stephen Kangogo expressed confidence in the drilling team's progress at the Baringo-Silali prospect. "The team is excited to begin drilling the fourth well in Paka after confirmation of the existence of viable geothermal resource in this field."

The drilling of PW-04 comes against the backdrop of confirmation of geothermal resources in the area after all the three exploration wells drilled yielded positive results.

Meanwhile, the field crew in Korosi is drilling Korosi Well Three (KW-03), the last of the three planned exploration wells in the area. The team is optimistic that the field will also offer productive results, paving the way for appraisal drilling.
