Fraunhofer IEG drill wins Red Dot Award

Fraunhofer IEG’s Micro Turbine Drilling has received the international Red Dot Award in the Industrial Equipment category art this year’s awards.

The micro drilling turbine equipped with a diamond drill bit is only 10cm long and has a diameter of 3.6c. When drilling, it rotates at up to 80,000rpm
