Assembly of TBM starts at UK's Silvertown Tunnel project

Earlier this month, a major milestone ahead of tunnelling for the Silvertown Tunnel was achieved when the first elements of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) were lowered into the launch chamber.

Around 20 lifting operations will be required to fully lower all the parts of the TBM that will be used for the Silvertown tunnel project into its launch chamber
