Robbins Double Shield launched in Nepal

In October 2022, China Overseas Engineering Group Company and China Railway No. 2 Engineering Group Company launched a 6.4m diameter Robbins Double Shield TBM, which is boring the 13.1km headrace tunnel for the Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project (SMDMP) located in southern Nepal.

Since the Robbins TBM was launched in Nepal it has bored over 500m, with a best week of 224.6m, and a best day of 36.6m
