Euro Repair hits the road

The Nottinghamshire-based company is launching a new mobile repair service for drilling rigs, plant and machinery, which will work across England. It means that Euro Repair's engineers can work both on and off client sites to ensure rigs and other machinery are working at optimum levels, as well as carrying out work at the Mansfield workshops.

The company's manging director Jeremy Moore explained: "The mobile service is a significant investment, but means that we can better meet the needs of our clients. Downtime for a rig or other plant machinery is expensive. With the mobile service, we can get to the client site within hours, saving them time and, therefore, money."

To support the mobile service, Euro Repair has launched an all-day hotline, which clients can call for help. Initially, Euro Repair's mobile service will cover northern England; however, the company said that it would look to expand its reach in the future. The company is also upgrading its Mansfield workshop, where it will continue to carry out customisation projects along with repairs and maintenance for both rigs and other heavy plant.

"There is still a significant call for rig customisation work, particularly to help people ensure that imported rigs reach UK health and safety regulations, and that will continue to take place at the Mansfield site," Moore added.

Euro Repair, which was formed in 2003, was acquired by Meridian Drilling in 2013.
