Bauer Technologies, part of Bauer Spezialtiefbau, has recently been awarded a piling contract for the expansion of chemical company BASF’s plant in Bradford, UK.

The plant is known as one of the largest and most productive single-site chemical plants in the country, with an annual output of over 250,000t, of which 84% is exported.

The ‘Bio-ACM Manufacturing Facility' project was awarded to Bauer Technologies by main contractor JN Bentley. It will see Bauer perform rotary bored piling to a maximum depth of 28.5m through challenging coal seams in the geology.

Strict HSE (Health and Safety Executive) measures for the works have been developed, due to the site being part of the operational facility at BASF. Piling works started on site in January 2015 and are expected to take two months to complete.
