Bauer's work on underground parking in Copenhagen

At the beginning of December 2019, Bauer Spezialtiefbau was commissioned by investor A.P. Moeller Foundation to install diaphragm walls and anchors for the Operaparken project in Copenhagen.

The project involves the construction of a new underground parking garage next door to the opera house in the centre of the Danish capital.

Besides creating 300 additional parking spaces, the project will meet impressive standards of quality and design: the underground parking garage will be completely below ground and covered by a park with trees, ponds, walkways and access to the Copenhagen harbour.

Bauer had previously constructed a secant pile wall as the retaining structure for A.P.Moeller Foundation's new headquarters, which was built in challenging subsoil in Copenhagen.

"We are very pleased about the new contract and the company's continued trust in us," said Petra Peter, who is responsible for Scandinavia at Bauer Spezialtiefbau.

Specialist foundation engineering work will begin in April 2020.
