Domestic subsidence investigation specialist Geocore is the fifth acquisition for the fast-growing RSK group this financial year.

Founded in 1998, and based in Redcar, North Yorkshire, UK, Geocore specialises in the investigation of domestic subsidence, providing detailed site surveys with foundation inspections and drainage CCTV. Its services include trial pitting, window sampling, rotary drilling and cable percussion drilling.

"Geocore's service provision complements RSK's existing services perfectly and I am looking forward to expanding RSK's drilling provision as we begin collaborating," said RSK's founder and CEO, Alan Ryder.

In joining forces, Geocore Site Investigations will become part of RSK's contracting division under the direction of RSK divisional director Claire Knighton. Geocore specialism will enable RSK to increase its drilling provision and expand into other areas. Adam Woodhead, Geocore Site Investigations' MD and founder, will continue to lead the business with the support of director Michelle Woodhead.

"As a people-orientated business, Geocore is excited to be joining a larger business with a shared ethos and family feel," said Woodhead. "We see many synergies that will provide new opportunities for us all. Moving forward with the support of RSK's integrated safety, health, environmental and quality management system, I will be delighted to see Geocore take the next step as a respected provider of specialist drilling solutions."
