Drilling company Rouillier Drilling recently took delivery of the first KmN 1.4SM, developed at VersaDrill Canada's Val-d'Or premises over three years. Rouillier Drilling and VersaDrill Canada are both divisions of Groupe Rouillier.
The manufacturer called the new product a "unique combination of performance and lightness". The tracked machine can drill up to 1,600m in NQ, with a reduced environmental footprint (around 25kPa).
VersaDrill stated that its new design is suitable for work in sensitive grounds and damp areas. The rig is also equipped with a rod manipulator, and, due to tried and tested technology, does not have a hydraulic tank.
According to Rouillier Drilling, the crawler unit will help limit travel expenses for customers, while increasing the number of metres drilled for the same budget.
