Having successfully completed the decontamination and demolition of the existing NCP car park ahead of schedule, McGee has subsequently been appointed to deliver the piling, enabling and 30,000m3 bulk excavation works to create the new basement space.

The latest package of works also includes a seven-storey concrete core, upper and lower ground floor slabs.

Delivering these works on site will make way for a new development with up to 30 apartments, a gym, art gallery, retail and restaurant space. McGee is working alongside AKT II for its client, Motcomb Estates Limited.

"We have been working with the client and their professional team since design stage two to develop our delivery methodology in line with the design proposals. In doing so, it's configured to provide the most efficient delivery solution that helps to mitigate project risks. I am delighted that we have the opportunity to continue this relationship through this next delivery phase," said Seb Fossey, group managing director.
