The new facility, which is now home to Epiroc's service facilities, international geotechnical drilling team, the UK and Ireland geotechnical sales department, customer services and distribution, was opened up to provide customers with presentations, demonstrations and one-to-one discussions on a number of geotechnical applications including S Geobor, muds and fluids, overburden drilling and large diameter drilling.

During the day, there were geotechnical exhibition displays showing a sample of Epiroc's T-Wiz, Powerbit and hand-held range, mobile mud cleaning equipment as well as the large diameter display. The Terracore coring bit range was shown including a cut-out cross-section of the S Geobor core barrel to illustrate the mechanism inside the core barrel when using the different methods. The company's experts were on hand after the presentations to talk to the customers about their particular requirements and answer any questions regarding product applications and selection.

"Our idea was to invite our customers to a geotechnical product training day from our product specialists and also take the opportunity to welcome our customers to our impressive new premises in Grangemouth," said Petra Grandinson, general manager - Epiroc UK & Ireland. "It was great to meet and interact with over 40 customers and to receive such positive feedback from them on the quality of the training they received and our new premises."
