Geothermal drilling in Bochum successfully completed

Stadtwerke Bochum and its subsidiary FUW GmbH have completed the first geothermal well at the MARK 51°7 science park in Bochum, Germany, at a depth of around 340m. The old tunnel of the former Dannenbaum colliery has been reached and it is now being checked whether mine water can be pumped to the surface from there as planned.
