The contract involves Easternwell's Rig 103 drilling four directional wells to depths of 1,550m.

Specialising in production and coring wells, the rig is capable of directional and pad drilling, as well as under-balanced air drilling and coring, making it a versatile and efficient solution for varying operational requirements.

Kyle Koziol, Easternwell's general manager, said: "We look forward to working with Newcrest Mining on this exciting project.

"The experience of our drilling team and the versatility of the rig make us well suited to the challenging drilling conditions of the volcanic rock formations that we are seeing on this project."
