Previewed by Marini Quarries Group at Conexpo 2020, Skelair is now launching this latest range to the UK market with the MR-P 350 - a super-compact, high powered and extremely flexible drilling rig.

As a dynamic crawling piling solution, the MR-P 350 is configured with a nine-element Kelly bar for a maximum depth of 15m. Capable of drilling piles up to 1,200mm diameter and a maximum depth of 18m, the MR-P 350 has been developed to provide optimum performance in the smallest of spaces, on sites with restricted access, and even inside buildings.

While ease of manoeuvrability is made possible by an extremely compact design that has a footprint of just 2,540 x 1,500mm and a maximum weight of 9,000kg, the MR-P 350 offers even greater flexibility through the standard supply of a counterweight. With the counterweight in place, the hydraulic unit can be detached and positioned up to 30m away using a hydraulic hose. This versatile feature means the MR-P 350 can be safely used in areas lacking air circulation or where noise levels are a concern.

The optional remote control with integrated display is a further innovation that supports varying site requirements.

Steph Keane, sales director at Skelair International, commented: "Demand for increasingly smaller machines that are capable of the same performance as conventional rigs is on the rise. With the MR-P 350, Marini has not only succeeded in the size specification, but they have truly innovated when it comes to thinking about the wider safety and practical considerations on-site.

"Being able to move the hydraulic unit up to 30m away from the working drill rig will open up so many opportunities for our customers. We expect it to be particularly popular for basement applications where there's a growing trend for piling to be undertaken inside buildings. The MR-P 350 is ideal for these site conditions."

Combining practicality with quality, the MR-P 350 incorporates a rotary head with two motors. This intelligent design ensures a more uniformly distributed torque and increased rpm ranging from 0 - 45 in drilling mode.

Mario Bozzola, Marini's sales area manager, said: "We were excited to showcase the new MR-P Line at Conexpo last year, but we're even more excited to be officially launching it in our strategic markets.

"The MR-P 350 increases safety, performance, reliability and ease of use, aligning perfectly with the evolving needs of the UK construction market. We've worked alongside the Skelair team over the past few months which means they are able to provide technical guidance on everything this powerful, yet compact, rig has to offer."
