Liebherr has broadened its pile-driving range of machines with a rope-suspended leader paired with the proven H10 hydraulic hammer.
Unveiled for the first time at Liebherr Nenzing's recent 50th anniversary celebrations, the system provides an efficient solution for driving free-standing piles both vertically and at an angle, while offering customers greater flexibility through compatibility with a wide range of crane types.
The rope-suspended leader and H10 hammer enable piling operations without the need for a dedicated piling rig, as the system can be mounted on various cranes, including duty cycle crawler cranes.
Its versatility is claimed to allow contractors to take on a wider range of projects, particularly where piles must be installed at greater reach or in locations obstructed by existing structures. Such capabilities are especially beneficial for marine and port construction applications.

With a combined weight of 27t , the leader and hammer can be positioned quickly over the pile, allowing work to commence immediately.
The system is designed to handle piles weighing up to 30t, with diameters of up to 1220mm and inclinations of up to 1:3.
The H10 hydraulic hammer features a modular weight system, enabling it to be tailored to different piling requirements.
As indicated by its designation, the hammer supports a maximum ram weight of 10t. Its advanced noise-reduction design significantly improves working conditions and environmental performance: four Liebherr hydraulic hammers operating simultaneously generate the same sound power level as a single conventional hammer without noise mitigation.
The H10 also delivers an efficiency rate of 95%, transferring almost all impact energy directly into the pile to maximise performance. In addition, the hammer is compatible with Liebherr's LRB and LRH piling rig ranges, further extending its application possibilities.
By making use of cranes already available on site, the rope-suspended leader and hammer combination offers a cost-effective solution that requires minimal installation effort.
For use with third-party carrier machines, Liebherr provides a standalone control system, ensuring straightforward integration and maximum operational flexibility.
