Argico will be supplying a comprehensive range of Sandvik equipment, as well as providing full aftermarket care, spare parts and customer service. It has offices, workshops and service engineers throughout the Dominican Republic.

Founded in 1970 by the Gigante family, and headquartered in Santo Domingo, Argico initially distributed Cummins engines and electric generators. The company rapidly grew, soon becoming distributor for JLG industries and Doosan forklifts. Argico is now serving over 2,000 customers in the mining and construction industries.

Commenting on the appointment, Luis Gigante, president of Argico, said: "The Dominican Republic can now count on the availability of drilling, crushing and screening equipment and goods."

Jorge Duarte, sales manager for Sandvik Construction, Mexico and Central America, commented: "For over 45 years, Argico has provided integrated solutions to its customer base. The company has developed a support and service infrastructure, which will provide an excellent platform to distribute and service the Sandvik Construction product lines."
