A major uranium exploration project is expected to start within the next few weeks after U92 Energy Corp inked a deal with contractor Orbit Garant Drilling (Guyana) for the first 5000m diamond drill phase of the Kurupung Uranium Project.

The phase one drill, in Guyana, Latin America, will focus on mineralisation along strike and down plunge at Aricheng South, one of four deposits. The program includes additional drilling at Accori North C, where more than 4500m of historical drilling has already been completed.

U92 anticipates the additional drilling will be sufficient to support a potential fifth deposit in the next mineral resource estimate.

CEO Adam Clode said the contract for the inaugural 5,000m drill represents a "significant milestone as we build on the historic uranium resource estimate and more than 129,000m of prior drilling".

It is believed Kuruprung has "considerable underexplored" upside potential.

"We look forward to delivering steady results to the market as drilling progresses and to continuing to unlock the long-term value of the project for our shareholders," said Clode. "Our technical team is excited about the prospects of determining the grade and continuity of other critical minerals that occur with the uranium and which may be transformational for the Company."

Kurupung, U92's flagship project, represents 129,723m of drilling and a historical indicated "yellowcake" resource of 10.6Mlbs and an inferred mineral resource of 10.0Mlbs, at a cut-off grade of 0.03% (300ppm) U₃O₈.

In addition to the initial four deposits there are eight additional targets where uranium grades are though significant but require further exploratory drilling. These discoveries represent a prime opportunity for the Toronto-based company to increase the uranium inventory of the project.
