MGS, a UK-based specialist supplier of geotechnical solutions, has enhanced its range of groundwater level monitoring products with the addition of the Aquatel Telemetry Modem, developed by Aquaread.
To help simplify data management in hydrogeological and geotechnical monitoring applications, MGS is now distributing the Aquaread Smart Telemetry Modem to its customer base in the UK and Europe.
The Aquatel device provides a combined data-logging and telemetry system to monitor water level and water quality at pre-determined intervals, while recording and periodically uploading data to a web-based platform.
Recording, viewing and manipulating groundwater data has never been easier
Configuration and control of the Aquatel can be performed by SMS or email, allowing users to gather data without a stable internet connection or mobile phone signal.
"With its innovative communication features, the Aquatel Telemetry modem is ideal for use in demanding applications at any location in the world. Given its benefits, we are confident that our customers will gain even more reliable data when using the device for their groundwater projects," Richard Houghton, the technical sales engineer responsible for water monitoring products at MGS, said.
Constructed using carbon fibre and aluminium, the Aquatel features 4G modem communications, a built-in GPS receiver, and a barometric pressure sensor for location and parameter compensation.
The Aquatel also integrates with the web-based data visualisation portal, Inoview, enabling users to gather, transmit and analyse real-time data on a secure and user-friendly platform.
"Recording, viewing and manipulating groundwater data has never been easier. Directly from a mobile phone, the Aquatel can execute SMS commands and provide instant readings. In addition, programmable alerts can be set to automatically send messages, ensuring users are immediately informed of any specific conditions," Houghton added.
"Given our prominent position in the geotechnical industry, we're always looking for ways to enhance our service and provide even greater technology to support our customers. We are proud to be distributing Aquaread's instrumentation, and we look forward to assisting more groundwater level monitoring projects with Aquaread products in the years to come," Houghton concluded.
